Rockhampton’s floodwaters continue to creep into central Queensland city as residents prepare

Floodwaters lap at the doorsteps of homes in low-lying areas of Rockhampton as the swollen Fitzroy River invades the central Queensland city.

Authorities said low-lying areas of the city would start going under later today and the flood peak was predicted to stay in the region for at least 48 hours..

About 1,800 properties will have some level of inundation, with about 330 homes and businesses expected to have water over the floorboards.
