UK diesel cars could soon be paying $40 A DAY in a new tax in fight against pollution

MILLIONS of drivers face a new tax raid under plans to slap a pollution fee of up to £20 a day on diesel cars.

A Government crackdown to be announced this month will hit as many as 10million vehicles driving through 35 towns and cities across England.

Diesel vehicles could be banned from some of the worst-hit areas.
