White House found 26m would lose insurance under GOP plan

A White House analysis of the House GOP’s health bill found an even greater number – 26 million – of Americans would lose their health insurance over the next decade.

Politico first reported the figure, as the White House has made a concerted effort to invalidate the numbers released by the Congressional Budget Office yesterday.

The CBO, a non-partisan entity whose director was hand-picked by Republican Tom Price, now President Trump‘s Health and Human Services secretary, calculated that 14 million could lose health insurance within a year of the new bill’s passage, with 24 million impacted by 2026.
