Darwin rattled by 5.3 magnitude earthquake

A 5.3 magnitude earthquake has struck the Banda Sea, 600 kilometres north of Darwin, rattling the city at 4.44am on Monday.

Striking 600 kilometres north of Darwin at a depth of 96 kilometres, the quake is reported to have been felt at around 4.44am ACST.

Most were asleep at the time of the tremor, but some residents have reported to have felt it, according to ABC News.
