And when you hear Brian Cox talk about the heavens above Australia, his passion for one of his speciality subjects — astronomy — is as clear as he’s hoping the night skies will be when he hosts a fascinating ABC special, Stargazing Live next week.
In an interactive TV event, designed to teach viewers about the universe above them, Cox will present three nights of what amounts to an astronomy master class from Coonabarabran’s world class observatory, Siding Springs in country NSW.
As complex as the subject may be, Cox believes this TV experience — already a huge success in the UK, where it has been airing for six years — makes “citizen science” accessible.
