Laptops offer only HALF the battery life promised: WORST PERFORMERS Here

Many of the world’s most popular laptops offer almost half the battery life promised by their manufacturers, new research has revealed.

A Which? survey found most computer companies wildly exaggerate how long laptop batteries can last for.

Researchers concluded that HP and Dell were the worst offenders, after their laptops lasted half the time claimed by the manufacturers in a test.

Apple came out on top and exceeded its claimed battery life of ten hours.

THE WORST PERFORMERS

1. HP: Claimed: nine hours 48 minutes

Average tested life: five hours two minutes

2. Dell: Claimed: nine hours 15 minutes

Average tested life: five hours 12 minutes

3. Asus: Claimed: 10 hours 12 minutes

Average tested life: six hours 53 minutes

4. Toshiba: Claimed: seven hours 58 minutes

Average tested life: four hours 45 minutes

5. Lenovo: Claimed: six hours and 41 minutes

Average tested life: four hours and 34 minutes

6. Acer: Claimed: seven hours 53 minutes

Average: five hours and 59 minutes

 7. Apple: Claimed: 10 hours

Average: 10 hours and 15 minutes
