#F1 #BahrainGP Vettel claims second win as Hamilton pays for 5sec time penalty

Sebastian Vettel claimed his second Grand Prix win of the season as he steered his way from third to first at Sakhir Circuit in Bahrain.

Valtteri Bottas began the third race of the campaign in pole position, the first of his career, after just pipping fellow Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton in qualifying. Hamilton led the race for a period but was handed a five-second penalty for holding up Daniel Ricciardo in the pit lane.

The Brit paid his dues and pulled in during the 41st lap while Mercedes put Hamilton on soft tyres. Meanwhile the German took advantage as the Ferrari took the lead and held on for a comfortable win to become outright leader of the drivers’ championship – with Hamilton just seven points adrift.
