Hitman jailed for murder of underworld figure The Munster: orders of gangland boss Carl Williams

Convicted hitman Stephen Asling has been sentenced to life in prison with a minimum of 27 years, for the murder of Graham ‘The Munster’ Kinniburgh.

Asling was found guilty in March of executing Kinniburgh by gunning him down outside his Kew home in 2003 on the late Carl Williams’ orders.

Victorian Supreme Court Justice Stephen Kaye on Friday jailed him for life with a minimum 27 years to serve.

‘Your murder of him was brutal, callous and utterly cowardly,’ Justice Kaye said on Friday.

The judge said the decision to kill Kinniburgh as a substitute for Williams’ enemy Lewis Moran was made in an ‘almost casual manner’.

‘Graham Kinniburgh gave you no cause or reason to have any grievance against him, let alone kill him.’
