BREAKING: Capitol Hill on lockdown and gunshots are fired

Gunshots rang out near Capitol Hill after a suspect reportedly crashed into a police car in Washington DC this morning.

Witnesses at the scene said they heard three gunshots before the suspect was taken into custody at 3rd and Independence Avenues in Washington DC.

Pedestrians were told to get off the streets while several buildings were placed on lock down.
