MOTORISTS on the South Eastern Freeway were forced to swerve out of the way of an oncoming car after an elderly motorist started driving on the wrong side of the busy road.
The 70-year-old female driver was reportedly pursued by an ambulance whose driver tried to get the woman to pull over.
The elderly woman has driven at least 45km on the wrong side of the SE Freeway from Murray Bridge to just past Mount Barker, before sideswiping an oncoming car.
Police first received a report of an Adelaide-bound Toyota sedan travelling on the wrong side of the freeway near Murray Bridge just after 2.30pm.
Carla and Randall saw the driving first-hand as they were driving towards Mount Barker and came face-to-face with the car driving straight towards them…
