Clean energy target drives up costs: Govt MP. + Isn’t Clean Coal an OXYMORON?

Nationals MP George Christensen says he won’t vote for the CET unless it has includes an incentive for coal.

Labor has indicated it will support a CET but not if it involves clean coal technology.

George Christensen has told SKY NEWS LIVE he will not ‘countenance’ voting for a CET that excludes coal.

‘I don’t want to put words in other people’s mouth, but if you talk to many in the National party they would be of the same view, including our leadership’ he said.

‘It’s the view of many also in the Liberal party.

‘Unless we just say oh well, ‘Labor’s view is so coal, we’ll have to accept that’, we’ll have no policy stability.’
