HOLLYWOOD stars Ellen DeGeneres and Stephen Fry are urging Australians to update their electoral roll details with just hours left to go before the cut off.

The high-profile gay icons added their voices to calls for Aussies to urgently update their enrolment details today ahead of next month’s postal plebiscite on gay marriage.

Their shout out on Twitter reached nearly 85 million people worldwide.

Degeneres, who wed Australian Portia De Rossi in the United States in 2008, said: “Australia, I love you. It’s time for marriage equality. Make sure you’re enrolled to vote right now.”

Fry urged Australians to enrol and vote ‘Yes’ in the upcoming plebiscite.
