Rupert Murdoch last night sacked one of the biggest names on American TV as he seeks to take full control of Sky.
News pundit Bill O’Reilly has lost his job at Fox News after reports that five women had been paid millions of dollars to keep quiet about sexual harassment allegations.
The scandal has caused major corporations to pull adverts and has threatened to derail Murdoch’s bid to buy the 61 per cent of Sky he does not already own.
Federal investigators were understood to be probing payments made to alleged victims.
