A sinkhole has swallowed an SUV in Hoboken after the third broken water main this year led to flooded streets and a deteriorated road.
The Tuesday rush-hour commute was snarled up as Willow Avenue and Clinton Street were closed between Sixth and Fourth avenues while workers tried to contain the flooding.
But by the time they arrived, the vehicle had already been pulled down beneath the asphalt on Willow Avenue and fully submerged. It later re-emerged as water drained away, footage from NBC‘s news chopper shows.

The vehicle was pulled into the ground sideways early Tuesday morning after the break, which is being investigated by utility company Suez.
No-one appeared to have been hurt.
Footage shot by one Twitter user shows the mud-slicked car being hauled out of the Willow Avenue hole by a digger.
This is the third water main breakage this year, the second this month and just the latest in a years-long series of pipe failures, nj.com reported.
