Logan takes $33million on opening day at box office

Marvel has just come out on top of another tussle with DC.

Logan took in more than $33million at the box office on opening Friday, according to Variety.

The Wolverine film’s three day estimate has been bumped up to $80million, which will well eclipse The Lego Batman Movie’s $53million launch, making it the biggest film of 2017 so far.

Showing in 4,071 theatres nationwide, it is also the widest ever domestic opening for an R-rated film.

The film sees Hugh Jackman return as the antihero mutant for the ninth – and final time – in over the 17 year film franchise…
