A CABOOLTURE shopping centre has been evacuated and roads have been blocked off following the discovery of a suspicious package, police said.
A Queensland Police spokesman said motorists are advised to avoid the area around the Caboolture Square shopping centre on King Street, Caboolture, as Morayfield Rd, along with King, Elliot and George Streets have now all been blocked off.
He said the suspicious item was found in the Kmart area of the shopping centre about 9.20am.
The Explosive Ordnance Response Team (EORT), also known as the bomb squad, was on its way from Brisbane.
