Turnbull faces new crisis as outspoken MP George Christensen RESIGNS as chief whip – after poll revealed he could lose his seat to One Nation

Outspoken Nationals MP George Christensen has quit as the party’s chief whip so he can spend more time ‘being ill-disciplined’.

The outspoken north Queensland MP made the decision after he and party leader Barnaby Joyce came to a mutual agreement.

Mr Christensen said the decision was his alone and no one pushed him.

‘However, I did feel some of my colleagues may have been aggrieved that the enforcer of discipline was being somewhat ill-disciplined himself,’ he said in a statement on Tuesday.
