Trump says ‘I haven’t called Russia in 10 years’ but he talked with Putin last month! – as probes of his campaign’s alleged Kremlin ties gather steam

Donald Trump brushed off a question on Monday about whether he would endorse the appointment of a special prosecutor to probe alleged links between his presidential campaign and the nation of Russia.

A White House pool reporter wrote that the president mouthed the word ‘no’ to a group of health insurance executives gathered at the White House.

And as press staffers herded journalists out of the Roosevelt Room, Trump told his guests: ‘I haven’t called Russia in 10 years.’

There’s no evidence he has made such a call in the past decade – although he spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin via telephone last month.
