Max Verstappen unhappy enough at Red Bull to contemplate a move to Ferrari?
WILL Max Verstappen still be at Red Bull next season? Sky F1 pundit Ted Kravitz thinks he will move to Ferrari if the Scuderia come calling given his impatience to win a world championship and Red Bull’s struggles this year.
The teenager has talent to burn — there’s no question about that — and it’s more a matter of when, not if, he will be a world champion. But car troubles continue to haunt Red Bull and it looks like he’ll be waiting longer than he wants to win bragging rights as the best driver on the F1 circuit.
Verstappen’s Canadian Grand Prix ended after just 11 laps due to a suspected engine failure, his team’s pit stop strategies allowed teammate Daniel Ricciardo to overtake him in Monaco and end up on the podium while he crossed the line in fifth and before that he failed to finish to Spanish Grand Prix.
It’s contributed to a miserable run for the 19-year-old, who described his experience in 2017 as “crap” after his Montreal debacle.
“What is going to happen to Verstappen? We hear that not only is he not happy but by extension (his father, former F1 driver) Jos is not happy,” Kravitz said in a Sky Sports F1 Facebook Live video.
