And now the one-time 007 – who starred in 1969’s On Her Majesty’s Secret Service – divulges the trials and tribulations of his surprising rise to stardom in Hulu documentary Becoming Bond.
The 77-year-old started out as a used car salesman in Australia and despite no acting experience, he convinced James Bond producers to hire him to replace Sean Connery in the iconic role through an unbelievable set of circumstances.

Following his success in the flick, he was offered the next seven Bond films and a $1 million signing bonus but turned it all down.
Written and Directed by Josh Greenbaum the Hulu documentary uses archive footage and re-enactments to tell his story.
In the racy new feature, the New South Wales native recalled enjoying a romp with a gorgeous French girl in Paris when casting agent Maggie Abbott (played by Jane Seymour) tracked him down and ordered him to come back to London to audition for Bond.
After landing the coveted role, George revealed he a man came by his hotel room with a gorgeous woman, claiming she wanted to have sex with him.
