Homeswest tenants leave $20m damage bill

SHOCK new figures show filthy tenants have caused more than $20m damage to Department of Housing properties in just the past 12 months.

The disturbing data comes as almost 17,000 people sit on WA’s public housing waitlist desperate for a home, with more than 1600 of those deemed a priority.

The worst suburb for housing damage is Moora in the State’s Wheatbelt region, with more than $160,000 damage caused in just 12 months.

The Kimberley areas of Newman and Mandangala, an Aboriginal community, were second and third on the shameful list…
