World Bonkers Over Sergio Garcia’s Hole-In-One On World’s Most Treacherous Hole

It’s the most interesting golfy thing in Florida since that giant ‘gator… and that other giant ‘gator.

The 17th hole at the TPC Sawgrass golf club in Florida is a hole unlike any other in professional golf. Known simply as “the island green”, it’s a green which is basically in the middle of a lake. This is where great golfers go to look very, very humble.

Which made everyone very excited, not least Twitter, which is live streaming every shot at the hole with a 360 degree camera.

This was Sergio’s first competitive round of golf since his Masters win five weeks ago, which just goes to show the recuperative power of rest.

But 2017 Masters winner Sergio Garcia thumbed his nose at this notorious golfing grave on Friday morning (AEST). Playing alongside Australia’s Adam Scott — who was leading the prestigious Players Championship — Garcia stepped up and hit a hole-in-one. Just like that.

This was Sergio’s first competitive round of golf since his Masters win five weeks ago, which just goes to show the recuperative power of rest.
