Sainsbury jail rife with rape/drugs ‘If girl falls in love, she will look for a way to rape you’

Accused drug smuggler Cassie Sainsbury is being held in a prison where woman-on-woman rape and drug-taking are rife, a regular visitor has revealed.

Bogota local Andrea Paolo Daza Quintero regularly visits her mother inside El Buen Pastor women’s prison, where Miss Sainsbury has been detained following her April 11 arrest.

Miss Sainsbury, 22, was found with 5.8kg of cocaine concealed in the packaging of 15 headphone boxes at Colombia’s El Dorado International Airport.

Now Miss Daza Quintero has revealed harrowing information about what happens inside the infamous prison’s walls.

‘You find rapes – the women rape other women. Violation, between women,’ Miss Daza Quintero told news.com.au via a translator.

‘If you like somebody, if one girl falls in love with another, she will look for a way to rape you.’

Miss Sainsbury is staying in the prison’s Patio Five wing – nicknamed ‘narco patio’ – which is reserved for foreigners, according to the website.

If found guilty of smuggling drugs, she faces up to 25 years inside a prison where violence and drug-taking is reportedly commonplace.

‘Violence is normal in all of the patios,’ Miss Daza Quintero said.

‘Smoking of drugs, you can find more on the inside than on the outside.’

Miss Daza Quintero also said her mother told her the cells are dark, dirty and have a bad smell, according to news.com.au.

The revelations come hours after Miss Sainsbury’s family touched down in Bogota.

Mother Lisa Evans and sister Khala Sainsbury refused to comment on their daughter’s situation to waiting media as they walked through the airport, but were accompanied by a crew from Channel Nine’s 60 Minutes.

The family have reportedly negotiated an ‘eye-watering’ sum just under $1 million for a TV deal with the program.
