Eddie McGuire’s Hot Seat may be AXED – On the chopping block?

Channel Nine’s Hot Seat, hosted by Eddie McGuire, recently underwent a revamp but has failed to topple rival Seven show The Chase in the ratings. According to The Daily Telegraph, the program’s makeover has ‘flopped- with network insiders confirming the changes are now unlikely to save the game show long term’.

Both shows fill the 5PM time-slot, and act as a lead-in to the nightly news, with Seven and Nine locked in intensely fierce competition over their quest to have the top-rating news bulletin.

The Telegraph reports that The Chase’s lead in the ratings ‘has blown out by nearly 100,000 viewers on average each week’, which spells bad news for Nine executives who are reportedly shopping around for new TV options.
