#F1 Hamilton may have won the Chinese GP but Ferrari proved they are genuine title contenders
Lewis Hamilton may have taken the spoils in Sunday’s Chinese Grand Prix but Sebastian Vettel’s second-place finish provided clear evidence that Ferrari appear more than capable of taking the fight to the Briton’s Mercedes tam.
Vettel sprung something of a surprise when he won last month’s season opener in Australia and despite racing on a vastly different layout in much cooler weather, there was little to choose between the pair for the second weekend in a row.
The results in Melbourne and Shanghai have raised hopes that the early-season rivalry between a duo with seven Formula One championships between them and locked on 43 points apiece in the overall standings, could become a full-blown title duel…

Lewis Hamilton shares pics of him getting Chinese tattoo on same day he won GP in Shanghai
Lewis Hamilton is almost as well known for his extensive range of tattoos as he is for being a Formula One driver, and he gave his fans a fresh insight into this side of him by sharing pictures of his latest inking.
Hamilton showed off the his latest tattoo, of three Chinese symbols, via his Instagram page on Sunday, which he said had been done ‘for my Chinese fans.’
He then showed off further pictures on the social media site, of the tattoo artist doing his work, filling in the outlines of the characters…

A perfectionist with a steady hand: Jonathan Green remembers John Clarke
It was Di Gribble who introduced me to John Clarke. They’re both dead now, leaving that same sense of unfillable loss, of something just gone from life.
John was a man of many conversations and we shared more than a few. In corridors, on phones, in studios.
It always amazed me, early in the piece, that he made time, someone so accomplished, so well-known and adept. But it dawned on me eventually that having a chat was one of the things John liked most, perhaps second only to working.
There would have been other private priorities above these I know — to his family and closer friends — but ours was a particular conversation, full of ideas, wit and a constant fascination with literary and performance form. It had the intimacy of mutual fascination, but not a true closeness.
I used to joke, often to Gribble, about “the long no that is John Clarke”. John was careful, you see. In this time of fame pursued for its own sake, of every passing minute filled with a minute’s worth of senseless fluff, John was a steadying and sober hand.
He was careful of his reputation, and protective of his craft. He would never let a word of his venture out alone until he was utterly confident that it was polished to a certain, quiet, poised perfection.
He loved the boundaries of things, the way recognisable written and visual forms could be teased towards comedy. His satire was steeped in this, the way things are written and done…
ACA’s Ben McCormack ‘in hospital’ after not reporting bail
A Current Affair reporter Ben McCormack was taken to hospital on Monday, his lawyer said.
The 42-year-old Nine Network journalist did not appear at Redfern Police Station where he is required to attend under his bail conditions.
‘He was put into a hospital today for some sort of assessment,’ his lawyer Sam Macedone told Daily Mail Australia.
Under the terms of his bail conditions, the senior reporter was required to report to police twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays.
Police said they received a medical certificate from the Sydney man.
Mr Macedone said he would be applying to vary McCormack’s bail conditions and had notified the informant.

Bianca Dye reveals what the CandyMan’s parties are like
If there’s one thing Australian millionaire Travers Beynon, aka The Candyman, has mastered, it’s how to host a memorable party.
Each year, the Gold Coast based tobacco tycoon hosts his infamous parties – some costing upwards of $400,000 and all featuring hundreds of bikini clad women, an endless supply of food and alcohol and eye-popping entertainment.
In December, radio host Bianca Dye was asked to MC his Seven Deadly Sins themed bash held at his famed Candyshop Mansion in Helensvale, Queensland.
And now, she has opened up about the experience and revealed exactly how the night played out from the moment she walked through the gates.
Speaking to Yahoo Be, Ms Dye, who is a personal friend of Mr Beynon, described the night as ‘entering another universe’ and was greeted at 12pm by ‘incredible girls’ – some inside life-size champagne glasses and others bare-breasted or donning bikinis and roller skates.
The radio host, who was one of 1,000 ‘specially picked’ guests at the December bash, said there were also ‘150 working behind the scenes’ as well as the host’s personal entourage of ‘stunning, sexy, slim and confident women’.
Among the crystal embellished costumes, contortionists and exceptional decor, Ms Dye said there were also a selection of food trucks along the driveway with ‘every kind of festival food you could think of’…

Maybe Carrie should have stayed abroad after all. Maybe if she had, she wouldn’t be ending Homeland‘s sixth season staring warily at Capitol Hill the way Brody once did, unsure of whether her country’s turned its back on her.
So that’s what this season was all about, the fact that terrorism can be home grown — and not seen as terrorism, but a defensive mechanism to keep America, as the episode title says, first. Keane’s paranoia is what compels her to stay seated while Carrie pleads for her to stop the witch hunt; it’s also what drives her to “detain” innocent people like Saul. These arrests may not come equipped with explosives and IUDs, but they’re flashy and they’re a different form of spreading terror, at least through the Beltway.
And what of General McClendon, Brett O’Keefe, and Dar Adal? Their entire mission, which certainly overshot its initial goals, was borne out of paranoia as well, created and carried out within U.S. borders by the people who claim to protect it. So who was right all along? How can a country defend itself when its enemies believe themselves to be its heroes? Why shouldn’t the highest office simply rule with an iron fist instead, intelligence community be damned?

Kim Kardashian sobs over husband Kanye’s mental health breakdown on KUWTK
Kim Kardashian received the call telling her Kanye West was hospitalized following a mental health breakdown on Sunday’s episode of the family’s reality show.
The 36-year-old reality star, who had just arrived in New York for an event to honor her late father, received a phone call from one of Kanye’s friends as she sat in the hotel with Kourtney and her mother Kris Jenner.
Kim, who had been out of the public eye since the Paris robbery, was visibly shocked as she listened to what her husband’s friend had to say.
Sobbing as her sister and mother watched, she added: ‘I can’t,’ before the episode ended and declared it was ‘to be continued’.
Earlier in the episode, fans saw Kim venturing out for the first time since the robbery to Kanye’s show at The Forum in Los Angeles…

Bannon to be forced out of the White House if he doesn’t become a team player
The ultimatum comes after a hellish week for the top aide who has become increasingly isolated in the White House following his rise to power as a key architect of Trump‘s ‘America First’ policy, a senior official told Axios.
Bannon’s power bubble burst this week when Trump booted him from the National Security Council, his feuds with Kushner and wife Ivanka Trump were made public and it emerged he was against the Syrian airstrikes.
Arguably the two most influential voices in the West Wing, Bannon and Kushner were forced to sit down on Thursday at the Mar-a-Lago estate with chief of staff Reince Priebus.
Trump, increasingly frustrated by the leaks and stories of infighting that keep flowing out of the West Wing, ordered the pair to set aside their growing feud and ‘work this out’.
‘Either Steve becomes a team player and gets along with people, or he’ll be gone,’ a top Trump source told Axios.
There have been numerous reports of late indicating Bannon – who seemingly sees himself as the keeper of campaign promises – is in constant opposition to Kushner, Trump’s daughter Ivanka.
Sources say Bannon and Kushner have locked heads over strategies to pass health care legislation, the fallout of the immigration bans and whether the US should bomb Syria.

Screenshots obtained by Daily Mail Australia show McCormack, 42, specified he was ‘looking for young slim smooth… dudes’.
The senior Nine Network journalist – suspended from his job pending court proceedings – said ‘short is hot’.
His profile, seen in May 2016, was accompanied by a photograph of his shirtless torso.
He was charged with using a carriage service to send child pornography that afternoon.
He is under strict bail conditions preventing him from being exposed to children and has been suspended from the surf life saving club where he volunteered.
McCormack’s arrest sent shockwaves through the Australian media, particularly given his work in exposing Hey Dad! abuser Robert Hughes.
Co-workers have expressed concern about his welfare and his lawyer Sam Macedone last week said he wasn’t doing well.
McCormack will face Downing Centre Local Court on May 1…

Max Verstappen: Holding off Ricciardo ‘not nice’ #F1 #ChineseGP 🇨🇳
Starting 16th on the grid after an engine software problem in qualifying, Verstappen made the most of the damp conditions when the lights went out, moving up to seventh place by the end of Lap 1, before ultimately going on to finish third behind Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel – earning Driver of the Day honours in the process.
“That was not bad I think,” said the Dutchman modestly. “I really enjoyed that first lap where I passed nine cars and from there onwards I think there were some good moves as well to overtake.
“I was struggling a little bit with the balance of the car because yesterday I didn’t run a lot, of course, in qualifying, so I didn’t really have a good picture of it because we changed a lot from FP3 on the car.
