#Perth airfares tumble in new price war

MORE cheap airfares are on offer from Scoot and Emirates as airlines jockey to fill empty seats with deals that are some of the cheapest seen from Perth.

Scoot is celebrating its merger with Tiger Airways with the special deals and will also announce new destinations, possibly to Europe.

Singapore is one way for $99 for the standard FLY fare, Langkawi $119, Bangkok $139, Hanoi $179, Hong Kong $189, Taipei $209, Maldives $229 and Athens $339.

There are also special prices for ScootBiz that start at $279 to Singapore, Bangkok $359, Hong Kong $369 and Athens $999.

Scoot’s sale starts at 10am on Tuesday and runs to midnight next Sunday.

The travel period is up to March 24 next year but there are some blackout periods over school holidays and special events.

The combined Scoot and Tiger networks serve 60 destinations across 17 countries and uses 14 Boeing 787s and 39 Airbus A320s.

Scoot, which is owned by Singapore Airlines, has six more 787s on order that will open up more long-haul routes.

The airline operates a daily 787 service to Perth.

Emirates, which operates twice-daily flights into Perth, also has a major seat sale for travel to Europe with return airfares starting at just $1269 to Dublin.

Other fares and destinations include $1399 to Rome, $1399 to Paris, $1409 to London or Manchester and $1459 to Frankfurt.

Return business-class fares start at $6359 to Amsterdam, $6369 to Zagreb, $6389 to Rome, $6549 to Dublin and $6609 to London.

The airfares are available for bookings made between last Tuesday and July 31.

Business-class fares are for travel between July 26 this year and May 31 next year, while economy-class fares are for travel between October 1 and November 30 this year and January 14 and March 27 next year.
