Moment bike race ends in a violent pileup as DOZENS of riders plough into one another

THIS is the shocking moment dozens of cyclists crashed into each other during a race in Brooklyn.

The female cyclists were taking part in the 10th annual Red Hook Criterium 5km race when the carnage ensued.

The race in Brooklyn was just getting underway when a couple of cyclists crashed causing the huge pile up.

Stunned onlookers watched on as dozens of racers landed on top of each other during Saturday’s elite division competition.

The race takes on a winding, closed-circuit course just over a kilometre long.

It featured 60 riders on fixed gears bikes without brakes who seemed to struggle to make their way around the tight circuit.

Reports suggested 15 cyclists were impacted by the crash but only one racer dropped out after the first lap.

Stefan Schafer and Colleen Gulick were the men’s and women’s winners on Saturday…
