Melbourne’s Oakleigh Police Station evacuated over device

A Melbourne police station was evacuated after a ‘possibly explosive’ device was dropped off at the facility on Tuesday morning.

A member of the public brought the item to Oakleigh Police Station, south-east of the city, around 10am, according to 3AW.

Victoria police told Daily Mail Australia officers searched the station and conducted safety checks.

The bomb squad was called to the scene to investigate the ‘possible explosive device,’ a police spokeswoman said.

The scene was given the all clear by officers around 11.30am.
