Michigan’s basketball team plane slides off runway + CRASHES

A plane carrying the University of Michigan men’s basketball team aborted takeoff and slid off the runway at Willow Run Airport in Ann Arbor on Wednesday.

Team spokesman Tom Wywrot said the takeoff ‘was aborted’ due to high winds, and ‘after strong braking’ the plane then slid off the end of Runway 23L and ‘sustained extensive damage,’ around 3pm according to WLS.

All 109 passengers, which included the team and band members, along with seven crew members, were safely evacuated and no injuries were reported.
