Canberra’s new age of enlightenment

This month, Australia’s capital will give Pairs and it’s “city of lights” title a run for its money as the Enlighten 2017 festival kicks off in Canberra.

Over ten illuminated nights, the whole family can see Canberra in a different light, with many of the city’s national attractions opening their doors to host an array of events as part of the festival.

Canberra’s Glassworks, National Zoo and Aquarium and the Australian National Botanic Gardens will be transformed into vibrant arts precincts, showcasing Australian premiere performances and live performances.

This year, site specific designs will be projected across six iconic buildings:

  • Australian Parliament House
  • Old Parliament House
  • National Library of Australia
  • Questacon
  • National Portrait Gallery
  • National Gallery of AustraliaNational Archives of Australia
