Australia flooded with fake $100 bills-Starting in Melbourne

High-quality counterfeit $100 bills are reportedly flooding Melbourne’s shops and restaurants with authorities warning people to remain vigilant.

The fake notes are being circulated by counterfeiting rings operating in the city and are said to be extremely realistic with one huge flaw, Fairfax Media reported.

The bills have the same feel as polymer notes and include the clear window with a lyrebird – but all have the exact same serial number – AI 13933231.

There are two counterfeiting operations currently thought to be working in Melbourne.
