Tourist finds a nest of giant spiders on a wooden stake at a vineyard in Melbourne

A TOURIST visiting a vineyard in Victoria has made the frightful discovery of giant nest of huntsman spiders on a wooden stake.

The image, taken at the Yarra Valley, 90 kilometres east of Melbourne, shows at least ten of the venomous spiders bunched up together on the wood.

After being shared on Reddit, the image inspired people to share their Huntsman horror stories.

“Worked on a horse stud in that area, one day on the farm I had to move 8 sheets of 3/4 plywood from one shack to another. It was a two person lift, so grab a mate and we move the first sheet. My mate turns around and his back is covered in grey huntsmans as big as dinner plates, so I brush them off,” one commenter said.

“There was also the time where I tried to squish one with a broom on a fairly high ceiling. The bristles ended up just giving it a massage till it fell behind the couch,” added another…
