Cops put brakes on 178km/h Northbridge tunnel hoon #Perth

POLICE have released footage of a car speeding through the Northbridge tunnel at about 180km/h before the driver loses control and crashes.

The footage taken at 4.25am on March 16 this year shows the car exiting the tunnel at high speed before it drifts across a lanes on Graham Farmer Freeway and spins out of control.

The Holden Commodore came to a stop after crashing into a concrete barrier. No other vehicles were involved and the driver was not injured.

Police estimated the car was travelling through the tunnel at about 178km/h.

A 30-year-old man from Subiaco was charged with reckless driving after a police investigation into the footage.

He appeared in Perth Magistrates Court and was fined $750 and his licence was disqualified for nine months.
