Qld pair found dead inside burning car

Two people have been found dead in a burning car after the vehicle hit a tree northwest of Brisbane.

The car was found ablaze on Sunday afternoon in Wallumbilla North, with early indications suggesting it struck the tree before catching fire, Queensland police said.

The deaths bring the state’s Sunday road toll to four with a cyclist and a teenage driver killed in separate earlier accidents.

The cyclist in his 40s died in a crash with a vehicle on Mt Nebo, northwest of Brisbane, about 7.30am.

An 18-year-old driver was found dead at the scene of a single-vehicle crash at Pittsworth, west of Toowoomba on the Darling Downs, about 9am.
