FOUR acid attacks in 90 minutes in East London have Scotland Yard scrambling to find the riders of two mopeds.
Metropolitan police police say the attacks involved a ‘corrosive’ substance being thrown in people’s faces.
The victims have all been taken to hospital. A spokesman said one has suffered ‘life-changing injuries’.
No arrests have been made.
The BBC reports one of the victims was a 32-year-old man riding a moped. He had acid thrown in his face when two men – also on a moped – pulled up alongside him in Hackney at about 10.25 local time. One of the riders then stole the victim’s moped.
Police say his injuries are serious, but are awaiting an update on his condition.
A second attack developed about 30 minutes later in Shorditch High Street. In this case, another person had acid thrown into their face.
Police say the injures are not likely to be life-changing.
