AFL: Tomas Bugg suspended for six matches for punch on Sydney’s Callum Mills

Melbourne’s Tomas Bugg has been suspended for six matches by the AFL tribunal for punching Sydney’s Callum Mills.

Bugg’s punch concussed Mills four minutes into the Swans’ win over the Demons on Friday night and caused an angry reaction among Sydney players and officials.

The MRP referred the incident directly to the tribunal.

Swans’ midfielder Luke Parker described the punch as a “dogs act”, while Bugg apologised in person and on live television after the game to Mills.

Mills is unlikely to play this week due to the ongoing effects of the concussion.
