AFL: Tomas Bugg suspended for six matches for punch on Sydney’s Callum Mills

Melbourne’s Tomas Bugg has been suspended for six matches by the AFL tribunal for punching Sydney’s Callum Mills.

Bugg’s punch concussed Mills four minutes into the Swans’ win over the Demons on Friday night and caused an angry reaction among Sydney players and officials.

The MRP referred the incident directly to the tribunal.

Swans’ midfielder Luke Parker described the punch as a “dogs act”, while Bugg apologised in person and on live television after the game to Mills.

Mills is unlikely to play this week due to the ongoing effects of the concussion.

The world distrusts Trump more than even Vladimir Putin

The world distrusts Trump more than even Vladimir Putin

The world doesn’t have much regard for the president of the United States. That’s the somewhat unsurprising takeaway from a massive new Pew study polling attitudes toward the United States in 37 countries, from Canada to Russia to South Africa. Isaac Stanley-Becker and Scott Clement have the big story on it today.

But the degree to which the world dislikes President Trump is, by some measures, rather remarkable. Below are four findings that stood out to me.

1. The world distrusts Trump more than even Vladimir Putin

Plenty of folks have pointed to the finding that Russia is one of the few countries that actually likes Trump — a 53 percent majority there has confidence in Trump to do the right thing on the world stage — but another Putin-related finding is even more telling.

According to the poll, significantly more of the people surveyed in those 37 countries distrust Trump than distrust Putin. While 59 percent of people say they have no confidence in the Russian president to do the right thing, 74 percent have no confidence in Trump…

Hamilton Island, Daydream Island WRECKED by Cyclone Debbie

A WOMAN has shared shocking video of the damage to her Daydream Island room caused by Cyclone Debbie.

The 36-second video shows her room was blown apart in Cyclone Debbie. The ceiling has caved in, doors have been blown off and the floor is strewn with debris.

“Lost my home, job and lots of my possessions. What a horrific 48 hours,” she wrote.

Traumatised guests and residents on Daydream and Hamilton islands will be flown out of the region, which is running low on drinking water.

It was earlier thought military and private helicopters would be used for the evacuation but it is now believed a charter plane may be used.

Where they will be taken to is still being finalised.

“Daydream Island has requested the military,” Whitsunday Mayor Andrew Wilcox said earlier today.
