Adele SMASHES Taylor Swift’s ANZ Stadium attendance record

Adele smashed Taylor Swift’s ANZ single-night attendance record on Friday, performing to over 95,000 fans at the venue

But Adele, 28, probably isn’t interested in sparking any bad blood with the blonde bombshell, whose desires to be ‘the biggest female artist in the world’ were recently outed by Ed Sheeran.

Having just performed for 190,000 fans over two nights, the UK songstress will more likely be content to sit pretty on the $1 million minimum she nabbed for each performance on the tour according to news.com.au

#F1 Fernando Alonso suffers double breakdown in Barcelona | AGAIN

McLaren’s woeful pre-season continued on the final day of the Barcelona test as Fernando Alonso’s MCL32 twice ground to a halt at the Circuit de Catalunya.

The former world champion’s team and engine suppliers Honda have been plagued by problems which showed no signs of getting any better, with the first race of the season in Australia just over two weeks away.

Alonso’s car stopped twice on the track on Friday’s morning session to add to the two red flags on Thursday as the team were again robbed of valuable track time ahead of the Melbourne race.

Humanity might have received a signal from aliens that it isn’t checking, says Harvard professor

jodrell.jpgScientists might have found proof of alien life but misunderstood it, according to one Harvard professor. Strange radio waves that come down to Earth might actually be leakage from a huge light-powered ship deep in space.

Fast radio bursts, long thought to be perhaps the most mysterious message in the universe, might actually be evidence of advanced alien technology, according to Avi Loeb of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. But researchers might not be doing enough to check whether the source of them is what Professor Loeb speculates – leakage from planet-sized transmitters that are powering interstellar probes in distant galaxies.

“Fast radio bursts are exceedingly bright given their short duration and origin at great distances, and we haven’t identified a possible natural source with any confidence,” said theorist Avi Loeb of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. “An artificial origin is worth contemplating and checking.”…

Helicopter crashes into television tower in Istanbul killing at least five people.

Pieces of the aircraft lay strewn across a road as a witness describes the moment it hit the tower before “spinning” and crashing.

A helicopter has crashed into a television tower in Istanbul in dense fog, killing at least five people.

The Sikorsky S-76 aircraft had taken off from the city’s Ataturk Airport, according to CNN Turk and other local media.

Taxi driver Fikret Karatekin told the broadcaster the helicopter struck the tower before crashing on a road.

“It hit the tower and crashed by spinning,” he said.

It was carrying high-level business executives, NTV television reported.

Images posted on social media showed huge plumes of black smoke billowing from the crash scene in Buyukcekmece district.

Congress doesn’t like Trump’s deleted tweets (and it’s not because of the typos)

It’s also worried about emails and encrypted messages.

On Wednesday, the Committee on Government Oversight and Reform sent a letter to the White House expressing concern about the way Trump deletes those typo-filled tweets, preventing them from being cataloged properly by the Presidential Records Act.

The letter, signed by Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) and Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) in a rare Trump Era show of bipartisanship, also addressed additional concerns about White House employees using private, non-government emails and encryption apps like Signal and Confide to communicate.

White House staff was reportedly using the app to avoid media leaks) but criticizes use of such apps as a means of “circumventing requirements established by federal recordkeeping and transparency laws.”

Like the president, federal employees are also subject to an act that archives their communications, the Federal Records Act.  The letter closes by requesting the White House submit names of federal employees who have used private emails and what its policy is when it comes to archiving those emails.

That act was implemented in 1978, after the Watergate scandal, make those archives public and putting them under the care of the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). And with the expansion of social media — and the president’s use of it — so, too, must specialists file away all those tweets.

And Trump has deleted a lot of tweets, mostly for typos. Like on Friday when it took him three tries to get a tweet up with the word “hereby” correctly spelled. (Though other tweets, like his Saturday morning misspelling of the word “tap” as “tapp,” remain published.)

Pop star Justin Bieber spotted at Nando’s Belmont

CANADIAN pop sensation Justin Bieber has dined at some of the world’s most exotic destinations.

But a hankering for chicken led him to Nando’s in Belmont on Thursday night.

Earlier in the evening, Perth model Emily Balwdin was spotted visiting the pop star’s $25,000 a night Chairman’s Villa at Crown Towers.

The visit must have made him Peri Peri hungry. The 23-year-old star placed his order at the front counter of the Portuguese style chicken franchise while a police officer stood nearby. Beliebers were shocked that their idol was at the suburban store.

Marines ‘revenge porn’ scandal expands to all branches of the military-revealed that servicemen are sharing nude photos of servicewomen

Just days after it was revealed that members of the Facebook group ‘Marine’s United’  were sharing nude photos of females, it is coming to light that the same is occurring among other branches of the military.

Now the Defense Department is looking into different websites and online outlets through which members of the armed forces have shared nude photographs of women, many taken without their knowledge or permission.

The investigation started out with just the Marines, but has spread to all branches of the military.

A website, titled Anon-IB gained notoriety for publishing nude photographs of celebrities, such as Jennifer Lawrence.

Now it has been revealed that it contains a message board for military personnel to exchange comments and crude photos of female service members, or partners of service members. Some of the female members are even identified by name or duty station, reported CBS News.

Some of the photos posted are extremely pornographic, however others are just snaps of service women following requests for ‘wins’ which is a slang term for nude photos.

Saturn’s moon Pan shows a mysterious ravioli-shaped shepherd

THAT’S not a moon, that’s a … ravioli! Saturn’s strangest satellite, Pan, has been photographed for the first time. And it’s like nothing we’ve seen before.

The Cassini space probe has been taking risky dives through Saturn’s rings and sweeping past close to the planet ahead of its deliberate destruction in September this year.

Its impending inevitable demise means NASA’s happy to take risks.

Risks which include getting close enough to the cluster of ice and dust that forms Saturn’s iconic rings to get the first good look at its small moon, Pan.

It’s just 30km wide and helps ‘shepherd’ the rings into a distinctive gap.

“Pan in mind-blowing detail with its unmistakeable accretionary equatorial bulge,” tweeted the head of imaging for the Cassini mission, Carolyn Porco.

EXPLORE MORE: Are mysterious radio bursts alien space-probe exhausts?

Exactly where Pan comes from or how it was made is an ongoing matter of debate. It was only discovered in 1990 after a re-examination of photos from the Voyager missions.

Are they the leftover shards of a larger body which have since collected ring rubble and grown?
