Pilot dies in outback Qld helicopter crash

A helicopter pilot who was mustering cattle has died in a firey crash after hitting power lines in outback Queensland.

Emergency services were called to the crash scene around 20km north of Cloncurry, Queensland early on Wednesday.

A fire on board the aircraft was extinguished before firefighters arrived, a Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said.

The crash was reported to the Queensland Ambulance Service at around 7.30am on Wednesday by another pilot.
