New Zealand‘s South Island has been rocked by a 4.6 magnitude earthquake.
The strong-rated quake struck 15 kilometres north-east of Kaikoura, in the island’s northeast, at about 2.10pm on Monday.
It came just six months after the same area was hit by a 7.8 magnitude quake in November that caused widespread damage.
Locals took to social media saying they felt ‘sea sick’ and ‘dizzy’, but police said there was no reports of damage or injuries.
