The Indonesian lawyer said he had been shocked when judges imposed a 20-year jail sentence after Corby was arrested with 4.2 kilograms of marijuana in her boogie board bag on October 8, 2004.
Mr Siregar said it was “possible” the sentence was so harsh because so many people were watching the case. “If the case is quiet maybe only four years [jail],” he said.
