FORMER Fremantle Dockers forward Shane Yarran has appeared in court this morning, after being arrested overnight following an alleged high speed pursuit and eventual takedown by a police dog.
Mr Yarran, 27, was charged after he allegedly failed to stop for police in Gosnells early this morning.
Police said they were conducting patrols in the Gosnells area about 12.10am when they sighted a Hyundai hatch speeding on Muriel Street.
It will be alleged Mr Yarran failed to stop for police and was followed through various streets in Gosnells.
The ex-Docker, who was delisted at the end of last season, allegedly abandoned the vehicle on Fremantle Road and fled on foot.
Police dog Nacho located him lying in bushes in the front yard of house on Eynesford Street in Gosnells, according to a police statement.
Mr Yarran has been charged with Breach of Bail, aggravated failure to stop, Reckless Driving to escape pursuit by Police, No Authority to Drive; and Reckless Driving by Exceeding posted speed limit by 45km/h or more.
Mr Yarran did not apply for bail and was remanded in custody until June 7. The vehicle was impounded for 28 days.
