Fire tears through Adelaide wooden pallet factory

Fire crews have contained a blaze burning at a wooden pallet factory at Para Hills West in Adelaide’s northern suburbs.

Twenty fire trucks and 65 firefighters were sent to the factory at the corner of Beafield and Ceafield roads after the fire broke out.

Earlier in the evening, firefighters said the blaze had spread to neighbouring properties and was out of control.

However, late on Tuesday night firefighters said fire had been contained.

About eight fire trucks from the Metropolitan and Country Fire Services remained on the scene.

Authorities warned the smoke might increase and spread to surrounding suburbs.

They advised people to stay indoors and close all doors and windows until the smoke had passed.
