POLICE are searching for a man who fatally stabbed a pet dog as it was being exercised in a park in Perth’s northern suburbs on Wednesday night.
The owner, a 22-year-old woman, was exercising her four-year-old golden labrador off the lead in the park on Apple Blossom Drive in Mirrabooka at about 6pm.
It bounded over to a man, who allegedly crouched down and attacked it before walking away.
The labrador collapsed and was taken to a nearby veterinary hospital but it died from its injuries.
The man is described as about 180cm tall, with fair skin, in his 40s and with a light coloured beard.
He was wearing long dark pants and a light brown zip-up hoodie and was walking a small tan dog at the time.
Mirrabooka Police are investigating the incident. Any witnesses should call Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
