Ex Perth Wildcats Jaron Johnson banned for testing positive to cannabis

JARON Johnson’s bizarre time with the Perth Wildcats has taken a stunning turn with the forward banned by ASADA for testing positive to cannabis.

Johnson tested positive after the November 13 match against New Zealand. The game came shortly after he was re-signed by the club after originally being dumped earlier in the season.

He was sacked again in December and replaced by Grand Final MVP Bryce Cotton.

Johnson has been suspended for three months, backdated to March 24.

The Wildcats said they were disappointed by the news.

“It is disappointing to be advised that Jaron Johnson tested positive to cannabis during his brief time in the NBL,” the club said in a statement. “The Perth Wildcats take a tough stance on all such indiscretions.”
