Tens of thousands of people gathered in the pre-dawn light at Kings Park to remember those who lost their lives in war.
As dawn spilled in over the city skyline from the east, the lone bugler stepped forward to play the iconic last post, signalling those who fell to rest.
Among those who laid wreaths were WA Governor Kerry Sanderson, Premier Mark McGowan and Returned and Service League (RSL) state president Peter Aspinall.
World War II veteran John Wade said he was happy to see so many children at Kings Park.
“They are interested, otherwise they wouldn’t be there on a chilly morning would they?” he said.
