12 Year Old Arrested During Attempt To Drive From East To West Coast

He was stopped at Broken HIll.

A 12-year-old boy has been arrested at Broken Hill during an attempt to drive from Kendall, near Port Macquarie NSW, to Perth, after completing about one-third of his journey.

Officers from Broken Hill Highway Patrol stopped the car on the Barrier Highway at 11am on Saturday. Police had observed defects, including a bumper dragging across the ground, which made the vehicle hazardous.

In a statement released Sunday afternoon, NSW Police said checks revealed the driver to be a 12-year-old boy travelling from the east coast of Australia to Perth.
