At least seven people are dead and 59 injured in China blast

At least seven people are dead and dozens injured after an explosion at a kindergarten in China.

Police said the blast struck at 4.50 pm local time on Thursday at the Chuangxin Kindergarten in the city of Fengxian in Jiangsu province.

A mobile phone camera video posted on the website of the official People’s Daily newspaper showed more than a dozen people lying motionless in front of the kindergarten’s steel sliding gate, with clothing, shoes and other items strewn on the ground beside pools of blood.

It showed ambulances arriving and medics wheeling people into an emergency room.

It wasn’t clear whether the blast was an accident or had been deliberately set. The newspaper Xiandaikuaibao on its website cited an unidentified witness as saying the explosive appeared to have been a bottle of cooking gas.

Years before her relationship with Prince Harry thrust her into the spotlight, the 35-year-old star was given a part in a little-known film called Random Encounters.

Scenes from the 2013 rom-com show Meghan slipping into silky lingerie and seducing a male co-star while in character as bed-hopping party girl, Mindy.

It came two years after she first appeared on screen in her breakout role as sultry paralegal Rachel Zane in US legal drama Suits.

In one particularly racy scene Meghan is seen undressing actor Michael Rady as her character tries to make a move in a dimly-lit apartment.

At other points in the film, Meghan flits across the screen in flirty summer dresses and party frocks.

Mindy’s promiscuous dating life could not be further removed from Meghan’s own committed relationship with Prince Harry, which appears to be growing ever more serious.

In the latest sign of their love for each other, Meghan attended Pippa Middleton’s wedding reception with her royal beau on Saturday evening.

Harry, 33, and his 35-year-old girlfriend drove down to Berkshire early on Saturday morning and the prince attended the wedding ceremony along with his brother William.

While Meghan skipped the ceremony she later joined her boyfriend for the evening reception.

She and Harry were photographed driving up to Middleton’s parents’ estate for the lavish soiree, which was off-limits to the press.

One photo, published Sunday, showed Harry at the wheel of an Audi with Meghan by his side.

But the smiling Suits star managed to largely duck the cameras to avoid stealing the limelight at the extravagant reception, where she witnessed a spectacular aerial display from a £100,000 glass marquee.

The happy couple joined guests to watch the historic Spitfire Mk V plane soar through the skies against a stunning sunset for ten minutes from the ‘porta palace’ erected in the Middleton’s back garden.

A live band belted out music from the marquee as guests parties the night away, including jazz renditions of Call on Me by Eric Prydz and The White Stripes Seven Nation Army, the Sun reported.

Rumours have been circulating for some weeks that Meghan had been invited to the nuptials despite Pippa’s ‘no ring, no bring’ policy.

Palaeontologists have unearthed an unprecedented 21 different types of dinosaur tracks in the Kimberley region of Western Australia.

Australia’s own Jurassic Park has been discovered on a remote stretch of coastline with scientists unearthing an unprecedented 21 different types of dinosaur tracks.

Steve Salisbury, lead author of a paper on the findings, said it was the most diverse discovery of its kind in the world.

‘It is extremely significant, forming the primary record of non-avian dinosaurs in the western half of the continent and providing the only glimpse of Australia’s dinosaur fauna during the first half of the Early Cretaceous Period,’ he said.

Civilian deaths from US-led airstrikes hit record-high under Donald Trump

A non-profit organisation that tracks civilian casualties caused by airstrikes in the Middle East said it has shifted nearly all of its resources to track a surge of claims regarding US-led strikes in Syria and Iraq. The group, called Airwars.org, had been tracking deaths caused by both Russian and US airstrikes but said in a statement Friday that it was suspending its work on “alleged Russian actions in Syria — so as best to focus our limited resources on continuing to properly monitor and assess reported casualties from the US and its allies.

Despite Trump promises, Keystone pipeline won’t have to use American steel

Despite repeated promises from Trump, Keystone XL pipeline won’t be required to use American steel.

A White House spokeswoman said Friday that the “buy American” rules in Trump’s order clearing way for pipelines won’t apply to the high-profile Keystone project, which will carry crude oil from Canada to the U.S. Gulf Coast.

“The way that the Executive Order is written is actually … specific to new pipelines or those that are being repaired,” the spokeswoman said. “Since [Keystone] is already currently under construction … it was hard to go back. Everything moving forward would be all under that executive order.”

But Trump has vowed repeatedly that only steel from American steelmakers could be used on Keystone as well as other U.S. oil pipelines. He said so the day he signed the Executive Order, as well as in his address to Congress this week.

Trump also alluded to the requirement when he met with U.S. Steel (X) CEO Mario Longhi at the White House last week.

“You’re going to be doing pipelines now, you know that?” he said to Longhi. “We put you heavy into the pipeline business.”
