Bob Dylan finally has his hands on his Nobel Literature diploma and medal.
Klas Ostergren, a member of the Swedish Academy, said the 75-year-old American singer-songwriter received his award during a small gathering Saturday afternoon at a hotel next to the conference center where Mr. Dylan was performing a concert later that night.
Mr. Ostergren said the ceremony was a small, intimate event in line with the singer’s wishes, with just academy members and a member of Mr. Dylan’s staff attending.
“It went very well indeed,” he said, describing Mr. Dylan as “a very nice, kind man.”
Other members of the academy told Swedish media that Mr. Dylan seemed pleased by the award.

Two Filipino sailors were rescued last night from a life raft and are expected to give investigators details of how and why the Stellar Daisy foundered as it headed south.
The vessel, a Very Large Ore Carrier with a capacity of 260,000 tonnes, was taking a cargo of iron ore from the Ilha Guaiba terminal, near Rio de Janeiro, to China for use in the steel industry.
Its route would have taken it past Uruguay and Argentina, around Cape Horn and then across the Pacific.

Swedish rescue officials say a bus with some 60 people on board — mostly schoolchildren — has crashed in central Sweden, resulting in many injuries.
Rescue services spokesman Peter Nystedt says some 25 people were injured — some seriously — in the accident on a main highway, south of Sveg, a small town 430 kilometers (260 miles) northwest from the capital, Stockholm.
The bus reportedly was en route to a ski resort on Sunday morning, local media said. Pictures showed the bus lying on its side in a ditch beside the highway.

The ships were blown up at sea in 12 locations around the archipelago on Saturday.
Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Susi Pudjiastuti, who witnessed the sinking of two ships in the port of Ambon in Maluku province, said Indonesia was upholding its sovereignty and combating illegal fishing.
Indonesia has now sunk 317 foreign fishing vessels since 2014, when it began taking a tougher stance against illegal fishing in its waters.
Most of the vessels are from Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia and Thailand.

Flooding and mudslides in the Colombian city of Mocoa sent torrents of water and debris crashing onto houses overnight, killing 254 people, injuring hundreds and sending terrified residents.
Heavy rains caused several rivers to overflow, pushing sediment and rocks onto buildings and roads in the capital of southwestern Putumayo province and immobilising cars in mud in the early hours of Saturday.
‘It was torrential rainstorm, it got really strong between 11pm and 1am,’ said local resident Mario Usale, 42, who was looking for his father-in-law in the debris.
‘My mother-in-law was also missing, but we found her alive two kilometres away. She has head injuries, but she was conscious.’

Target Australia is the second company to be accused of exploiting Queensland’s clean water shortage after putting a $72 price tag on a 24 pack of 600ml spring water bottles.
A picture of the water bottles was taken at a Target store in ex-Cyclone Debbie ravaged Bowen, Queensland.
Natalie Maher posted the picture to Facebook and said she thought the price was a mistake, however it was confirmed by a worker.

Shortly after 10:00pm a silver sedan crashed into a bus, which is believed to have just dropped off passengers to the Perth Airport, at the intersection of Abernethy Road and Kewdale Road in Kewdale.
The bus was knocked onto its side from the impact.
A 16-year-old passenger of the sedan was killed in the crash.
The 19-year-old sedan driver was injured, as was the 46-year-old driver of the bus. Both were taken to Royal Perth Hospital, where they remained this morning in a stable condition.
