LONDON Parliament shooting: VIDEOS

UK Parliament lockdown: Police open fire outside and shoot knife-wielding man amid reports of explosion and ‘at least 12 pedestrians mowed down on bridge

Armed Police have opened fire and shot a person outside the Houses of Parliament.

A knife-wielding attacker was shot by armed police in the grounds of Parliament today after pedestrians were mowed down on Westminster Bridge.

More than 10 people are said to have been hit by a car on Westminster Bridge after a vehicle described as a ‘4×4’ reportedly drove into pedestrians and cyclists.

A ‘middle-aged Asian’ intruder then managed to break into the grounds of the Houses of Parliament and stabbed a police officer before he was shot, reports suggest.

Three injured people were seen on the floor outside Parliament and the Palace was placed on an immediate lock down.

Prime Minister Theresa May is said to have been bundled into a car by a plain-clothes police officer and driven quickly from the scene.

33+ civilians killed in US-led airstrike on Isis stronghold in Syria

At least 33 people killed in coalition strike on school used as refugee centre near jihadi-held town in northern province of Raqqa, says monitor

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the strike south of al-Mansoura, a town held by Islamic State in the northern province of Raqqa, took place in the early hours of Tuesday.

Top officials from the 68-nation alliance fighting Isis are to meet in Washington on Wednesday to hear more about Donald Trump’s plan to destroy the jihadis’ remaining strongholds in Iraq and Syria.

The US-led coalition has been bombing Isis since 2014 and is backing a major offensive to defeat the group in Raqqa city, the Syrian heart of the group’s “Islamic caliphate”.

The school turned shelter hit on Tuesday morning lies about 20 miles (30km) west of Raqqa.

“We can now confirm that 33 people were killed, and they were displaced civilians from Raqqa, Aleppo and Homs,” said the head of the observatory, Rami Abdel Rahman.

“They’re still pulling bodies out of the rubble until now. Only two people were pulled out alive.”

Many Americans may consider Donald Trump ‘a fake president’, :Wall Street Journal editorial

trump.jpgMany Americans may consider Donald Trump “a fake president,” according to a scathing opinion piece that ran in the Wall Street Journal.  The piece was penned by the normally right-leaning Wall Street Journal editorial board full of journalists who have regularly supported Republican candidates. The paper is part of Rupert Murdoch’s news empire, which includes Fox News Channel whose anchors are openly pro-Trump.

The piece – which minces no words – comes amidst a confirmation hearing for Mr Trump’s Supreme Court nomination and a critical vote in Congress on repealing and replacing the Affordable Care Act, known as Obamacare.

Instead of the spotlight being on possible ‘wins’ for the administration, “the week has been dominated by the news that he was repudiated by his own FBI director“ James Comey during a Congressional hearing, according to the editorial board.

Trump campaign chief Paul Manafort secretly worked for Russian billionaire to ‘benefit Putin government’

Breaking-news.jpgDonald Trump’s former campaign chairman once secretly worked for a Russian billionaire to advance Vladimir Putin’s interests, leaked documents have claimed. He allegedly proposed an ambitious political strategy to undermine anti-Russian opposition across former Soviet republics, despite claims from the Trump administration that he never worked in the Kremlin’s interests.

“We are now of the belief that this model can greatly benefit the Putin Government if employed at the correct levels with the appropriate commitment to success,” Mr Manafort wrote in a 2005 memo to Oleg Deripaska, a close ally of the Russian president and aluminium magnate.

He added that the effort “will be offering a great service that can re-focus, both internally and externally, the policies of the Putin government.”

Mr Manafort confirmed he worked for Mr Deripaska but told the Associated Press his rule was being unfairly cast as “inappropriate or nefarious” as part of a “smear campaign”…

Angry mob of neighbours surround suspected burglars

A mob of neighbours cornered a trio of suspected burglars for two hours when they allegedly tried to escape through the roof of a house.

Shardy Rehman, 44, was on his way home from work when he noticed a ‘commotion’ on a street in Bradford.

He then saw three figures on top of a house, surrounded below by ‘angry’ locals who had ‘turned on them’ as they allegedly tried to flee the scene.

The HGV driver then decided to record the footage and captured the moment one of the suspected intruders made a gun-like shape with his hand.

Mr Rehman said the suspected criminals had been on the roof of the house for two hours after being spotted by locals.

Following this incident, three men aged 17, 17, and 20 were arrested on suspicion of burglary, affray and criminal damage.

trumpheroimage.jpgUnited States President Donald Trump is having a bad time of it at present.

Not only is he polling atrociously for a newly-inaugurated President, his woes were compounded on Monday when the FBI announced that it has been investigating ties between the Trump administration and the Russian government.

Director of the FBI James Comey, confirmed to the Intelligence Committee of the House of Representatives the existence of a federal investigation into Trump on Monday, saying the FBI was:

Investigating the nature of any links between individuals associated with the Trump campaign and the Russian government, and whether there was any coordination between the campaign and Russia’s efforts.

Fargo season 3 trailer introduces the show’s new cast members

ewan-mcgreggor-fargo-season-3.jpgOver the past month, we’ve seen two trailers for the upcoming season of Fargo debut online, showcasing Ewan McGregor deceivingly different twins.

Thanks to a new 30-second clip, we have finally been introduced to other key members of the cast, including Carrie Coon, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and David Thewlis.

Notably, the 30-second clip features the first dialogue from the new season, and – as expected – the Minnesota accent is heavily featured.

F1 rule changes: Sexier, faster and more aerodynamic cars for 2017 season

The technology of Formula 1 is forever racing ahead, but 2017 sees an even bigger shake-up than usual as the sport responds to criticism that it became too predictable in recent years.

Mercedes has claimed the constructors championship at a canter for the past three years, and fans have long been complaining that it is all too predictable.

Not only that, the balance between man and machine was tilted too far in favour of the latter. In short, the pinnacle of motorsport had become too easy for the drivers, the cars too easy to drive.

‘Who are these glamourpusses, who show up, smile for the cameras and cruise around the track a few times in fantastical cars that do all the work for them?’ F1 lovers have been grumbling into their Bellinis. Probably.

Former driver Mark Webber and veteran Fernando Alonso have said that modern drivers just do not have it as hard as they did back in the day.

So what has Formula 1 done to make things better?…

Sydney student rape allegation: Video may ‘still be circulating’, private school fears

Students at a private school in Sydney’s eastern suburbs are ordered to delete and report a video of the alleged rape of a 15-year-old girl if they encounter it.

A 15-year-old boy from the exclusive Cranbrook School has been charged with the aggravated sexual assault of the girl.

The incident allegedly occurred at a home in Bellevue Hill earlier in March.

Another 15-year-old boy, who attended Rose Bay Secondary College, has been charged with filming the assault and sharing the video on social media.

Waverley College, which is not linked to the incident, has warned its students they must report the video if they see it online.

The Acting Head of College, Graham Leddie, sent a letter to every boy in years 7 to 12 to ensure they “understand the right and wrong” surrounding the issue.

“There are rumors (sic) that video footage of this incident is continuing to circulate through schools in the eastern suburbs,” Mr Leddie wrote.

“This is appalling, upsetting and simply wrong if true.

Sydney: Severe storm cuts power to homes, causes flight cancellations and delays

More than 30,000 homes and businesses are without power in Sydney’s west, as a severe thunderstorm brings heavy rainfall and damaging winds.

Tens of thousands of homes and businesses are without power in Sydney’s west, as a severe thunderstorm is bringing heavy rainfall and damaging winds.

The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) issued a severe storm warning at 3:00pm which also forecast large hailstones.

The storm is affecting areas to the south-west of Penrith and the BOM has warned the storm is tracking to the north-east to the Gosford/Wyong area.

Becky Gollings from the State Emergency Service (SES) said they had responded to hundreds of calls for help since the storm warning was issued, most of them in Mt Druitt, and the number was rising.

“It was pretty chaotic with those severe thunderstorms affecting Sydney and further south on the Illawarra and south coast,” she said.

The latest release of Google Maps allows absent-minded drivers to easily pinpoint their car and find the best way to get back to it.
